Wednesday World Cup Best Bets: 43/2 three-fold for Wednesday’s Round of 32 matches

England World Cup betting tips

Wednesday’s World Cup action sees the Round of 32 continue with another three intriguing knockout ties.

England kick things off against surprise package DR Congo, before Belgium face an improving Senegal side in what promises to be one of the closest contests of the round.

Co-hosts USA round off the day’s action with a tricky-looking clash against Bosnia and Herzegovina in San Francisco, where Mauricio Pochettino’s side will hope home support can help them into the last 16.

Below are our three selections for Wednesday’s World Cup accumulator, which pays a healthy 43/2 in the World Cup betting markets..

Wednesday’s Best Bets

  • England v DR Congo – England and under 2.5 goals @ 15/8

  • Belgium v Senegal – Senegal draw / no bet @ 11/8

  • USA v Bosnia and Herzegovina – USA and both teams to score @ 23/10

England to edge another tight encounter

England topped Group L but never fully convinced, following an entertaining 4-2 victory over Croatia with far less fluent displays against Ghana and Panama.

Thomas Tuchel’s side have struggled to break down disciplined, deep-lying opponents and DR Congo are likely to adopt a similar approach after frustrating Portugal and pushing Colombia all the way in the group stage.

England still possess the quality to find a breakthrough, with Jude Bellingham continuing to deliver in the biggest moments, while the expected return of Declan Rice should add further balance.

However, another low-scoring affair looks likely and England can progress without the game becoming a goal fest.

Leg 1: England v DR Congo – England and under 2.5 goals @ 15/8

Senegal to spring a surprise against Belgium

Belgium eventually topped Group G thanks to an emphatic final-day victory over New Zealand, but their earlier displays left plenty to be desired.

The Red Devils failed to win either of their opening two matches and defensive frailties remain a concern.

Senegal arrive with confidence after thrashing Iraq 5-0 to snatch a knockout place and they were far more competitive than results suggest against both France and Norway in an extremely difficult group.

Sadio Mane, Ismaila Sarr, Ibrahim Mbaye and Nicolas Jackson provide plenty of attacking threat, while Belgium’s defence has looked vulnerable throughout the tournament.

Backing Senegal to take the game until at least extra time looks excellent value.

Leg 2: Senegal draw no bet @ 11/8

Home advantage can send USA through

The USA won their group despite defeat to Turkey with a much-changed side and should have enough quality to overcome Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have looked dangerous going forward throughout the tournament, scoring six goals in three matches, and they will relish playing in front of another partisan home crowd.

However, keeping clean sheets has been a persistent issue. The Americans have managed just one in their last 11 internationals, while Bosnia have scored in 17 of their last 18 matches.

The visitors have enough attacking quality to find the net, but the hosts should still have enough to book their place in the next round.

Leg 3: USA and both teams to score @ 23/10
