Week 2 Results from Wynn Summer Classic

John Juanda‘s search for a second title of 2026 ended one spot short after the Poker Hall of Famer finished runner-up in the $1,100 Seniors 50+ No-Limit Hold’em event at the Wynn Summer Classic.

The five-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner collected $62,678 for his efforts after falling heads-up to Frank Weigel, who topped the field to claim the $96,961 first-place prize. While Juanda couldn’t close out the 634-entry tournament, the result still ranks as his biggest score of the year and continues an active 2026 campaign that has taken him across the globe.

Juanda’s lone victory this year came in a high roller event on the Asian Poker Tour in February. Since then, he has recorded cashes in Taipei, South Korea, and at the recently revived Aussie Millions. According to The Hendon Mob, the Wynn Las Vegas result was his sixth recorded cash of 2026 and his first of the Las Vegas summer.

Juanda isn’t the only poker legend to make headlines at the Wynn Summer Classic. Woman in Poker Hall of Famer Kathy Liebert captured the opening event of the series, standing alone at the top in the $600 Seniors event for her fifth recorded tournament victory of the year.

Macchiarelli Bags the Biggest Prize of Week 2

The $1 million guaranteed $1,100 NLHE event ended with Argentina’s Luciano Macchiarelli taking down his first tournament since 2024 for $180,715.

He came out on top of a 855-player field, defeating Timothy Barchie heads-up to secure the six-figure score.

Last year, Macchiarelli was fortunate to pick up a $250,000 Mystery Bounty at the Wynn Las Vegas, but now he’s walking away with the trophy and the second-largest tournament cash of his career.

Hizer Wins $600 Turbo for $14,476

Paul Hizer took down a $600 Turbo for $14,476.

The WSOP bracelet winner defeated Spain’s Miki Vea Garcia heads-up to top a 99-player field.

Three of Hizer’s last five poker cashes have come at the Wynn Las Vegas, and he’s now got a shiny new trophy to add to his collection.

Also cashing in this event was Hizer’s compatriot Matthew Davenport who finished 13th for $1,168.

Nadal Sordo Takes Down $1,100 Wynn Turbo

Santiago Nadal Sordo came out on top in the $1,100 NLH Turbo $100K GTD at Wynn Las Vegas, navigating a 128-entry field to take the title and the $34,320 top prize.

Sordo overcame Brandon Sunshine heads-up, with Sunshine banking $21,740 for second place, while Yu Chang completed the podium in third for $15,038.

It was a strong final table run for several familiar names on the Wynn circuit, including two-time WSOP bracelet winner Evan Sandberg in fourth and Avery Williams in fifth, with the turbo structure producing a fast-paced finish to one of the evening’s $1K buy-in events.

Hatmaker Triumphs in $1,100 NLH Turbo For $34,848

Casey Hatmaker was the victor in the $1,100 Turbo after he won a heads-up battle with Michael Wilklow.

Hatmaker, who has won five WSOPC events (four online and one live), took home $34,848 for his victory.

Wilklow’s second-place finish put $21,454 in his pocket while two-time bracelet winner Antonio Galiana from Spain came third, filling out the podium positions and earning $14,994.

These three players were the top finishers in an event that attracted 132 entries, smashing the $100,000 guarantee with a prize pool of $128,700.

Lo Benefits from Overlay

Just 82 players coughed up the $1,100 buy-in to play the $1,100 No Limit Hold’em Turbo on Saturday. As a result, there was a sizable overlay as the event failed to hit its $100,000 guarantee.

All the players who cashed enjoyed a bump in pay thanks to the overlay provided by the Wynn.

However, the player who should be most grateful for this added value is Roy Lo, whose first-place prize was bumped was up to $29,670.

Behind him were Carlos Vizoso (2nd – $18,500) and James Leonard (3rd – $12,950).
