WPT The Victor Debuts High-Stakes Rivalry Games at Palms

The World Poker Tour (WPT) is debutingThe Victor all this week. Starting today, The Victor is an intense three-day cash game event hosted at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

The event features a rotating cast of players with a “unique format centered around rivalry and competition,” according to organizers. The action streams live on the official WPT YouTube channel each day at 4:00 p.m. PST.

Understanding The Format

The high-stakes format imposes strict, punishing guidelines to ensure maximum action.

The format features a regular seven-figure ring game played at $25/$50 blinds with a pot-limit pre-flop and no-limit post-flop structure. However, two rivals sit down with a mandatory $5,000 starting stack. Players are only permitted a single $5,000 re-buy, which is only allowed after Hand 50 has been dealt.

The defining twist occurs at the conclusion of exactly 100 hands, where whichever of the two rivals holds the larger chip stack is officially crowned “The Victor.” In a brutal winner-take-all twist, the designated Victor is rewarded with every cent in their opponent’s stack, leaving the loser completely empty-handed.

The cast of these matches is a mix of seasoned pros, popular vloggers, and social media influencers. The opening session on June 4 features East Coast personalities and aggressive tournament pros, including Jared Jaffee, Nick Rigby, Roger Nahum, Wolfgang, Jouhan Allende, Nikki Limo, and Mike Dentale.
