A heavyweight clash is on tap in the East Region Sweet 16 as the #1 Duke Blue Devils (34-2 SU, 20-16 ATS) face the #5 St John’s Red Storm (30-6 SU, 22-12-1 ATS) on Friday, March 27th, at Capital One Arena in Washington, DC.

Tip-off time is still TBD. What is known is the opening Duke vs St John’s odds, and they heavily favor the ACC champs.

Duke started the tournament as the favorite in the March Madness championship odds but have faded to third. The Blue Devils are currently trading at 19¢ at prediction site Kalshi, which is the equivalent of +426 odds.

St John’s is trading at 4¢ to win its first national title, equal to +2400 odds.

After surviving a huge scare from #16 Siena in the first round, Duke made short work of #9 TCU in the round of 32 (81-58). Cameron Boozer, the favorite in the Wooden Award odds, had a game-high 19 points and 11 rebounds. He was highly efficient, shooting 7-of-10 from the field and 5-of-5 from the stripe while also generating three steals.

St John’s followed up its 79-53 rout of #12 Northern Iowa with a 67-65 buzzer-beater victory over #4 Kansas.

Dylan Darling’s only two points of the game came on the winning bucket as time expired.
