It’s the rubber match of a 3-game set between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Washington Nationals.

After dropping the series opener, Washington bounced back Saturday with a a 5-3 win, but now Arizona is priced as the narrow favorite in the MLB odds.

Both teams are in the thick of the NL Wild Card chase, with Arizona right behind Philadelphia for the second and final place, and Washington just two games back.

Action gets underway at 1:35pm ET from Nationals Park in Washington, in a game that can be seen live nationally on MLB TV.

Pick 1: Over 9.5 Runs Scored — Yes (54¢ at Kalshi)

The best available angle is the full-game Over 9.5 runs at 54¢ Yes. Nationals Park has been one of MLB’s most hitter-friendly venues in 2026, ranking fifth in runs per game. Through 53 games at the park, contests have averaged:

• 11.21 runs per game
• 18.09 hits per game
• 3.09 home runs per game
• 6.58 extra-base hits per game

That offensive environment lines up well with a total of 9.5. Looking at the MLB probable pitchers, Arizona starts Kohl Drake, while Washington counters with Miles Mikolas, and neither side enters with ideal pitching depth behind them. With both bullpens impacted by injuries and workload concerns, I prefer attacking the full-game scoring market rather than trying to isolate one side early.

Pick 2: Arizona Over 4.5 Runs Scored — Yes (57¢ at Kalshi)

Arizona’s team total Over 4.5 runs is priced at 57¢ Yes. That is more expensive than the full-game Over, but it still makes sense given the Diamondbacks’ offensive ceiling and Washington’s depleted pitching staff.

The Nationals are missing several arms, including Josiah Gray, Jake Irvin, Trevor Williams, Mitchell Parker, and multiple bullpen pieces. If Mikolas struggles to work deep into the game, Arizona should see enough favorable matchups to push across at least five runs.

This also correlates well with the Over 9.5. If you want a more team-specific angle and do not want to rely as much on Washington’s offense, Arizona Over 4.5 runs is the cleaner play.

Pick 3: Run in the First Inning — Yes (56¢ at Kalshi)

The “Will there be a run in the first inning?” market has Yes at 56¢. This is a more aggressive, higher-variance play than the full-game total, but the matchup supports early offense.

Both teams should have their best bats lined up immediately, and the park conditions have consistently favored scoring. With the full-game total drawing Over interest and both team totals sitting at 4.5, the market is already expecting offense from both lineups. I would play Yes if you want an early-game sweat, but I rank it behind the full-game Over.

Arizona is only a modest favorite, with its win contract at 53¢ Yes at Kalshi. In the regular they’re getting -118 odds to win outright at FanDuel, while the Nationals are getting +100 odds for the victory at bet365.

The spread market is also worth noting. Arizona to win by more than 1.5 runs is priced at just 42¢ Yes, (+132 odds at FanDuel) while No is 59¢. That tells us the market sees Arizona as the more likely winner, but not by a comfortable margin. If you are backing Arizona, I prefer the straight win market over the runline-style contract.

Washington gets 1.5 runs on the spread, but it comes with some juice, at -150 odds.

The total has some variance, with Over bettors likely sticking to FanDuel, where the odds are set at -118. Meanwhile, Under bettors would likely target DraftKings, where the line is 10.5 runs, paying out at -117 odds.
