- The Cincinnati Reds look for the series sweep Thursday against the visiting San Francisco Giants
- San Francisco has just three wins in its last 11 games
- Read below for the latest Giants vs Reds odds, my best bet and how to watch
The Cincinnati Reds (10-7) will have their brooms out Thursday as they look to complete a series sweep of the San Francisco Giants (6-11).
San Francisco has struggled, dropping four straight, and winners of just three in the last 11, part of the reason they’re considered the betting underdogs against Cincy in the MLB odds.

Giants vs Reds Odds
The graphic above shows the best available odds, which are subject to change
The Reds are the betting favorite on the moneyline at -125 from BetMGM, as well as on the runline, where they’re getting less than stellar -210 to stay within two goals. Funny, because San Fran has the exact same +1.5 run line, paying out at -194 odds.
The total is set at 8.5 runs, with the Over getting -102 odds at DraftKings, with the Under getting -114 odds at FanDuel.
Giants vs Reds Best Bets
Player Prop Bet #1: Chase Burns Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-172 via FanDuel)
My data supports Chase Burns getting a lot of bats to wave. The Reds’ righty averages nearly 10 strikeouts per nine innings, and he now faces a lineup that struggles to get on base. Given his current form, I expect Burns to comfortably eclipse the 5.5 mark.
Player Prop Bet #2: Elly De La Cruz Over 1.5 Hits/Runs/RBI (-155 via FanDuel)
Elly De LA Cruz has been on a tear of late, picking up hits in six straight games, while driving in five runs and scoring six runs, making him a prime candidate to pick up any combination of those two on Thursday. He’s only faced Landen Roupp three times, and has yet to record a hit, but he’s in good position to break through.
Giants vs Reds Prediction
- Pick: Under 8.5 runs (-114 at FanDuel)
Runs should be at a premium today, with both offenses statistically underwhelming overall.
These teams have struggled to score, with the Giants dead last in Major League Baseball, plating just 55 runs across 18 games. To put that into perspective, the MLB leader in runs scored is Atlanta, who have 106 runs scored in just one more game played than the G-Men.
The Giants hit for a vastly superior road batting average (.257) but struggle to sequence those hits into runs.
Giants vs Reds Key Stats
During San Francisco’s current 4-game losing slide, the Giants have out up a grand total of eight runs. Amazingly, this team has 5-0 on the year when they score five or more runs, and have lost all nine games they’ve played when plating two runs or less.
Cincinnati is also way down the list, with the fourth-lowest total of 64 runs. But they’ve been better lately, totalling 10 runs in their two wins over the Giants, while working to cash the Over in seven of their last eight contests overall.
The Reds rank dead last in home batting average (.194) yet generate more runs per game. They crush 1.36 home runs per game, relying heavily on the long ball.
The Reds have owned this head-to-head of late, winning four of their last five against the Giants, holding them to four total runs scored in those five.
