The top-seeded Seattle Seahawks (15-3, 7-2 home) have advanced to the NFC Championship Game, which they will host at Lumen Field in on Sunday, January 25th, at 3:30 pm PT/6:30 pm ET. The LA Rams and Chicago Bears are locked in a pitched battle at Soldier Field, but sportsbooks have posted a prospective line for a Chicago Bears vs Seattle Seahawks NFC title game.

Seattle, which has long had one of the most-pronounced home-field advantages in the NFL, has opened as a big favorite in the Bears vs Seahawks odds.

Opening Bears vs Seahawks Odds (NFC Title Game)

The opening Bears vs Seahawks spread lists Seattle at -6.0 with -255 moneyline odds. The Bears come back as +210 underdogs to reach their first Super Bowl since 2006. The total has opened at 46.5 with -110 odds each way.

The Seahawks enter the NFC Championship Game as outright favorites in the Super Bowl odds at +130 (a price that will shorten if Chicago does in fact beat Los Angeles). Chicago remains a +1000 longshot; the Bears’ odds will shorten significantly if they’re able to bounce the Rams.

Bears vs Seahawks H2H Statistical Comparison

A statistical comparison of the two team shows why Seattle has opened as such a big betting favorite. The Seahawks finished the regular season third in points per game and first in scoring defense (while also ranking first in Defensive DVOA).

The Bears were extremely lucky to finish the regular season 11-6, at least by point-differential standards; Chicago’s +26 point differential was the second-worst among the 12 teams that reached double-digit wins (only the 10-7 Steelers were worse at +10). Overall, Chicago’s point differential was just 15th in the 32-team league.

The Seahawks led the NFL in point differential (+191). The two remaining AFC teams, New England (+170) and Denver (+90), were third and seventh in the NFL, respectively.
