My favorite bets for this contest are the Orioles moneyline and over 9 runs. When evaluating the MLB starting lineups, Baltimore holds a distinct advantage at the plate. The Orioles hit a collective .241, whereas the Padres struggle to find consistency with a .218 team batting average. San Diego is trapped in a noticeable slump, winning just 3 of its last 10 games. Furthermore, the Padres are a dismal 1-5 when listed as the underdog during that recent stretch.

The pitching matchup features Griffin Canning (0-4, 6.34 ERA) for San Diego against Shane Baz (3-6, 4.09 ERA) for Baltimore. Canning yields too much hard contact, evidenced by his 5.03 FIP. He routinely taxes his bullpen, averaging just 4.67 innings per start over his last 10 outings with a 4.68 BB/9 rate. That lack of control puts traffic on the basepaths early.
