David Peters, accused of refusing to pay back nearly half of a year-old $50,000 debt to Dylan Linde, addressed the allegations in a lengthy tweet.
Linde, one of the top tournament players in the world, claims Peters, who has nearly $50 million in The Hendon Mob cashes, agreed to take some of his action last year during a Triton Poker event.
The investment turned out to be a losing proposition, leaving Peters owing Linde $50,000 for his share of the action. Months went by before the high-stakes legend finally made a partial payment. He then, according to Linde’s story, made another payment months later before, on April 1, saying he couldn’t pay the rest, which amounted to around $23,000. Peters, two days later, is telling his side of the story.

Peters, on X, responded to the debt accusations. He began by stating that he deeply regrets the “choices that I made that led him to not trusting that he was going to get paid and led to him posting about it.”
“I’m sure that wasn’t an easy thing to do and I should have never allowed it to get to that point,” Peters continued in his first tweet.
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner and regular in the high roller circuit explained that he was “working on settling the rest” as soon as possible, and apologized, saying he “handled the situation very poorly.” He also expressed an understanding for Linde’s “frustrations.”
Peters wrapped the four-part tweet saying his focus is on “making things right and trying to regain the trust of the community.” He didn’t make excuses and was apologetic, although he didn’t explain why he hasn’t paid off the debt in whole, but did give a vague statement about how he got himself into a “bad situation where I just kept doubling down and making things worse while having very poor communication and missed timelines.”
Peters and Linde have been two of the most respected members of the high roller community. The tweets didn’t give a timeline for when and how the debt will be paid, but it does appear he’s making a conscientious effort to make Linde whole.
