  • World Cup action heats up today with massive playoff implications across the board
  • I am tracking sharp money and line movement for every match on the schedule
  • My AI model highlights three massive edges to exploit on today’s slate

Saturday’s four-game World Cup slate comes packed with massive playoff implications. The action kicks off at 1:00 PM ET with Netherlands (0-1-0, 1 pts) vs Sweden (1-0-0, 3 pts) at 1:00 pm ET, followed by Germany (1-0-0, 3 pts) vs Ivory Coast (1-0-0, 3 pts) at 4:00 pm ET, Ecuador (0-0-1, 0 pts) vs Curacao (0-0-1, 0 pts) at 8:00 pm ET, and Tunisia (0-0-1, 0 pts) vs Japan (0-1-0, 1 pts) at 12:00 am ET.

I submitted all four games to SBD’s predictive A.I. model and asked for its top +EV pick for each game. The four picks are summarized in the table below. After the table, I have reproduced the A.I.’s rationale for each pick in full.

Best World Cup Picks and Predictions for Today

Curiously, the model took three team-total overs on Saturday, something it’s only done twice in its first 20 picks for the tournament.

The model is 13-15 on its World Cup picks so far (-1.38 units on 1-unit wagers).

Netherlands vs Sweden A.I. Pick: Over 2.5 Goals 55¢ (-122) at Kalshi

A.I. rationale for the pick: “The model projects Netherlands vs Sweden as one of the slate’s better scoring environments, with both sides carrying enough attacking quality to punish defensive gaps in transition. That makes Over 2.5 goals the most efficient way to turn the matchup projection into a wager.

The +EV case is driven by price. Kalshi’s 55¢ price converts to -122 odds, which beats the DraftKings Over 2.5 price of -135.

I also compared the alternate ways to attack the same game script, including Netherlands to win at 56¢, Sweden to win at 21¢, Netherlands over 1.5 goals at 54¢, Sweden over 0.5 goals at 67¢, and the listed goalscorer props. Over 2.5 goals remains the strongest play because it captures scoring from either side while offering the best market value.”

Germany vs Ivory Coast A.I. Pick: Germany Over 1.5 Goals 63¢ (-17) at Kalshi

A.I. rationale for the pick: “The model rates Germany as the side most likely to dictate territory, shot volume, and sustained pressure, but the best way to monetize that edge is Germany Over 1.5 team goals rather than the moneyline.

Germany to win at 65¢ converts to roughly -186. Germany Over 1.5 team goals at 63¢, however, converts to about -170, giving us a better number while staying aligned with the same core handicap: Germany should create enough chances to score multiple times.

This is also a cleaner bet structurally. Germany can cash the team total with a 2-0, 2-1, 3-1, or even a chaotic draw. Compared with Germany -1.5 goals at 39¢, Over 2.5 match goals at 60¢, Ivory Coast over 0.5 goals at 63¢, and the listed goalscorer props, Germany Over 1.5 is a stronger bet based on the matchup.

Ivory Coast’s opening 1-0 win was solid, but they still allowed 10 total shots and now face a German attack that generated major volume in its first match. If Germany controls possession and pressure as projected, asking for two goals at a cheaper effective price than the moneyline is the better +EV position.”

Ecuador vs Curacao A.I. Pick: Ecuador Over 2.5 Goals 56¢ (-127) Kalshi

A.I. rationale for the pick: “The model identifies Ecuador as the clear side to control possession, field position, and chance creation, but the moneyline is too expensive to bet at 89¢, which converts to roughly -809. The sharper way to express that edge is Ecuador Over 2.5 team goals at 56¢, or about -127.

The +EV case is that the team total gives us exposure to Ecuador’s expected dominance without paying the massive favorite tax. Curacao is priced at only 4¢ and the draw is just 9¢, so the market is already signaling a one-sided matchup. If Ecuador are likely to spend long stretches in control, the better question is not whether they win, but whether that pressure turns into three goals.

Compared with Ecuador winning by more than 2.5 goals at 47¢, Over 3.5 match goals at 42¢, Curacao over 0.5 goals at 32¢, and the listed goalscorer props, Ecuador Over 2.5 team goals offers the best mix of price and analytical support. At 56¢, the break-even point is manageable for a favorite expected to generate the bulk of the attacking chances, making the team total the preferred +EV position.”

Tunisia vs Japan A.I. Pick: Japan Over 1.5 Goals 55¢ (-122) Kalshi

A.I. rationale for the pick: “The model projects Japan to create enough high-quality chances against Tunisia’s vulnerable back line, but the best way to bet that edge is Japan Over 1.5 team goals rather than the moneyline.

The +EV case starts with price. Japan Over 1.5 team goals at 55¢ converts to -122 odds, giving us a much cheaper entry point while still backing the same core matchup advantage.

The team total also creates a cleaner path to cash. Japan can score twice in a win, a draw, or even a high-event loss, while the moneyline requires the full match result to land. Compared with Japan -1.5 goals at 37¢, Over 2.5 match goals at 46¢, Tunisia over 0.5 goals at 53¢, and the Ayase Ueda and Takefusa Kubo goalscorer props, Japan Over 1.5 goals offers the best blend of price, projection support, and matchup fit.

Tunisia’s opening performance reinforces the angle after they conceded five goals and finished with a -4 goal difference. Japan enters off a 2-2 draw with enough attacking efficiency to exploit that defensive instability, making two Japan goals at 55¢ a better +EV position than laying a worse Kalshi price on the moneyline.”
