World Cup tips: A 5/1 Bet Builder for Ecuador v Germany

Ecuador World Cup betting tips

Ecuador’s sloppy start to the World Cup means they head into their final Group E match against Germany in must-not-lose territory to keep knockout qualification hopes alive.

Being one of the best third-placed finishers could be a likely outcome for Ecuador and this could be a match that produces a shock, given that Germany have already qualified and are near-certainties to top the group.

We’ve analysed the World Cup betting markets to put together a four-leg bet builder which pays out at 5/1 if successful.

Ecuador v Germany Bet Builder tips

  • Both teams to score @ 7/10

  • Both teams to score and at least one team to score two or more goals @ 23/20

  • Deniz Undav to score anytime @ 13/8

  • Ecuador to score in the first half @ 5/4

    Pays out at 5/1

Goals at both ends in store

Four-time world champions Germany are a perfect two from two in their group games, but it has not been as plain sailing as it looks on paper.

In their first game, they outclassed Curacao 7-1 but, very briefly, it looked like a shock result could be on the cards after they were pegged back to 1-1 and it was similar against Ivory Coast, who held a 1-0 lead until the 68th minute.

Germany were able to turn that game around with a last-gasp winner, but they do not possess the same prowess they have had at previous World Cups, especially at the back.

Their defence has looked shaky at times and is now without Nico Schlotterbeck due to injury, but they may have enough strength up top to outscore Ecuador, as they proved against rivals in their previous two group games.

Leg 1: Both teams to score @ 7/10
Leg 2: Both teams to score and at least one team to score two or more goals @ 23/20

Deniz delivering goals in spades

One of the revelations of the World Cup for Germany has been the blistering form of striker Deniz Undav.

Undav, who did not set the world alight with Brighton before moving to Stuttgart, has scored three goals across the opening two games, while he also has two assists to add to his record.

He made an impact when he came on against Curacao and he was the game-changer against Ivory Coast. Having come on at 60 minutes, he scored twice to turn the game on its head.

With qualification confirmed, Undav should be in line for his first start and expect him to have another positive impact.

Leg 3: Deniz Undav to score anytime @ 13/8

Ecuador eager to make first move

La Tri should be quick out of the blocks, given that a win is needed even to make them one of the strongest third-placed sides to get through to the knockouts, which may bode well against Germany.

The South Americans have left a lot to be desired this World Cup, having failed to score in their opening two matches and being held 0-0 by Curacao last time drew heavy criticism by their fans.

They have to be up for this, with their qualification hopes hanging by a thread and Germany have been slow starters in their matches.

As well as Curacao pegging them back, they went 1-0 down to Ivory Coast in the first half.

With so much on the line for Ecuador, they may be in line to strike early.

Leg 4: Ecuador to score in the first half @ 5/4
