Every Monday night, Hellmuth’s Home Game presented by Poker Night in America (PNIA) and sponsored by BetRivers is once again airing on CBS Sports on Monday nights.
The nationally-televised show, which was filmed at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada and is unique in that there is no commentary. Instead, the show is carried by table talk from Phil Hellmuth alongside a cast of fellow pros and friends in an intimate, relaxed cash game setting.
PokerNews watched Episode 25, and compiled a recap of some of the biggest hands and interesting storylines.
Here’s how things stacked up at the start of the episode:
| Seat | Player | Stack |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Randy “3Coin” Sadler | $5,000 |
| 2 | Kelly Lucas | $5,000 |
| 3 | DJ Washburn | $13,000 |
| 4 | Phil Hellmuth | $10,000 |
| 5 | Phillip “P3” Hellmuth III | $5,000 |
| 6 | Mike Matusow | $29,125 |
| 7 | Kane Kalas | $15,000 |
The game was played with $25/$50 blinds with a $50 big blind ante. Here’s a look at some of the biggest hands from the episode.
3Coin Needs to Reload

In the first hand of the episode, Randy “3Coin” Sadler raised to $125 from early position with the J♣9♦ and action folded around to Mike Matusow in the big blind. He looked down at the A♦K♣ and three-bet to $625, which prompted 3Coin to call and take a flop of 3♦5♠A♠.
Matusow continued for $700 with top pair and 3Coin, who didn’t have much of anything, called to see the 9♣ turn. Matusow moved all in, and 3Coin, who paired up, didn’t take long to call off his remaining $3,375.
3Coin needed to catch on the river to win the $9,475 pot, but it didn’t happen as the useless 10♥ peeled off.
Can Kelly Hold?

On Hand #12 of the game, Matusow raised to $300 with the 2♠2♥ in the cutoff, which prompted 3Coin to three-bet to $700 from the small blind with the 7♣6♠. Kelly Lucas flatted from the big blind with the 5♣4♣, Matusow called, and it was three-way action to the J♣10♣4♥ flop, which everyone checked.
3Coin led out for $700 on the 3♣ turn with straight and flush draws, and Kelly, who turned a flush, moved all in for $5,875. Matusow folded, and 3Coin opted to call to create a $14,000 pot. He was drawing live to a club to make a bigger flush, and he got it when the K♣ spiked on the river.
“Wow, what a beat,” Hellmuth offered.
Both Hellmuth’s At-Risk in Three-Way All In

Phillip “P3” Hellmuth III looked down at the K♠K♣ under the gun and raised to $200. Kane Kalas called from the cutoff with the 8♥7♥ and Kelly came along from the button with the J♠7♠. DJ Washburn then three-bet to $1,400 from the small blind with the A♥Q♣ before Hellmuth jammed all in for $2,325 with the A♠Q♥ in the big blind.
His son, P3, called off for $2,050 and both Kalas and Kelly folded. Washburn called the additional $925 and put both Hellmuth’s at risk. They let P3 choose, and he opted to run it twice. The 10♥J♦5♣J♥2♥ on the first locked half the pot up for P3, and he scooped it all after the 10♦3♥9♥9♣3♠ second runout.
A Gorjess Hand

A new player to the name known as “Gorjess”, limped under the gun with the A♥J♥ and DJ Washburn raised to $250 from the hijack holding the J♦10♠. Another new player, Mallory, flatted on the button with the K♥2♥ and Gorjess called to make it three-way action to the 7♦J♠9♣ flop.
Gorjess checked, Washburn continued for $425, and Mallory folded. Gorjess called and then checked the A♠ on the turn. Washburn bet again, this time $800, and Gorjess check-raised all in for $3,975 with top two pair.
Washburn thought long and hard before calling, and he needed to find an eight to make a straight. That didn’t happen though as the Q♦ bricked on the river to give Gorjess the double and $6,500 pot.
Running It Twice

Kane Kalas raised to $675 out of the small blind with the K♥Q♦ and DJ Washburn, who had double-straddled to $200, called with the 7♥6♥. The K♠4♥8♥ flop gave Kalas top pair, and he continued for $1,050, which Washburn raised to $3,600 with his straight flush draw.
The J♥ turn gave Kalas the flush, and he moved all in for $7,225 into the $8,750 pot after Kalas had checked. The latter thought for a bit before making the call and creating a $23,200 pot.
The two agreed to run it twice, and Kalas was looking for a heart to make a bigger flush. Unfortunately for him, neither the A♠ on the first run nor 3♠ on the second hit him, and Washburn took down the biggest pot of the day.
The Brutal Slowroll

DJ Washburn opened for $250 from early position with the Q♦J♥ and Hellmuth three-bet to $600 with the A♠A♥ next to act. Action folded to Kelly Lucas in the straddle, and she called $500 with the 6♣4♣, Washburn came along, and it was three-way action to the 10♦6♠6♥.
Both Kelly and Washburn checked in the dark to Hellmuth, who bet $600. Kelly check-raised to $2,000 with trip sixes, Washburn folded, and Hellmuth moved all in for $4,750.
“What could you possibly have?” Kelly asked.
“Four sixes. Can you beat it?” Hellmuth responded.
Kelly asked for a count and took her time before calling.
“Twice,” Hellmuth said about running it. “I have it, Kelly.”
“You do?” asked Kelly.
“Aces,” Hellmuth said before tabling his pocket rockets.
“Oh my god,” Kelly exhaled before taking her time and one by one flipping over her cards. The rest of the table erupted in delight at the slowroll, and Hellmuth took it with a smile and said he deserved to hit an ace.
“You do deserve it,” Kelly admitted.
Hellmuth had two runouts to try and find an ace, but unfortunately for him, neither the 4♥ turn and 8♦ river on the first nor the K♠ and 10♣ on the second helped Hellmuth. With that, Kelly scooped the $11,425 pot.
Here’s how things looked at the end of the episode.
